Julio López Quiroga

Julio López Quiroga is a lawyer and partner at Avante since January 2016. Prior to joining, Julio worked for over fifteen years as a lawyer at Uría Menéndez, where he became a partner in 2005, and previously spent eight years as a lawyer at Figaredo & Asociados.

Well-regarded in the market, his professional practice has focused on providing advice to national and international companies in the maritime, aviation, and insurance sectors, as well as those related to international trade, transport, distribution, and logistics. Julio advises on both contractual matters and complex litigation before the Spanish courts and the main arbitration courts, both national and international.

Julio is recognised in Band 1 and the Hall of Fame for Shipping by the leading international legal directories Chambers and Partners, Europe (Spain) and The Legal 500 (Spain), and he has been awarded as Lawyer of the Year in Transportation Law by Best Lawyers in 2025.
